Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is commonly viewed as one of the most complicated but well-loved poker games. It’s a game that, even more than regular Omaha poker, invites play from all levels of players. This is the chief reason why a once invisible game, has increased in popularity so amazingly.

Omaha 8 or better begins just like a normal game of Omaha. 4 cards are given out to every player. A round of betting follows where players can bet, check, or drop out. 3 cards are given out, this is known as the flop. Another round of betting happens. After all the gamblers have either called or folded, another card is revealed on the turn. Another sequence of wagering happens and then the river card is revealed. The gamblers must attempt to make the strongest high and low 5 card hands based on the board and hole cards.

This is the point where a number of entrants can get baffled. Contrasted to Texas Hold ‘Em, in which the board can make up everyone’s hand, in Omaha hi-low the player must utilize precisely three cards on the board, and precisely 2 cards from their hand.
